šŸš¦ Overall Operational Status

Overall operations are going well. Ovation of the Seas was alongside Fergusson on Monday however the terminal still managed to handle good volumes. The plan to build a berth on Bledisloe North will remove the need for these large cruise ships to use the container terminal berths.

A reminder that the container terminal is still operating without one of its three container berths as we undertake maintenance dredging. It will take around two weeks to restore berth pocket depths. We are still operating without ā€˜Iā€ crane and donā€™t expect to see this up and running until mid-January 2025.

The Auckland Marathon is this Sunday, 3 November, and there will be a number of road closures in place. Please refer to the Road Alert issued for changes to port access. Vessel operations continue as normal.

šŸ— Container Terminal Update

Our Terminal Operations team continue to manage volatile shipping schedules along with the stated constrains in a

dynamic operating environment as best possible.  This does mean ongoing changes to berth times and encourage customers to monitor our website for berthing times and cargo cut offs.

Next week, from 4 November, we will be starting some improvement work in the Fergusson Empty Yard and gate area. The project will:

  • Improve safety for drivers, pedestrians, and light vehicles
  • Improve amenities such as better toilet facilities and water fountains etc
  • Improve security and access controls.

Additional traffic management will be in place to assist drivers, and a Road Alert has been distributed to the Transport community with drawings of the new gate layout, and how the roadway, loading/unloading areas will be set up from Monday.

We expect the project to take until March 2025 and we will provide you with regular updates as the project progresses. Please take extra care when entering the port from Solent Street.

šŸšš Multi-Cargo (MC) Operations

Container/Breakbulk berths and yard are fully allocated to 90-100% capacity.  Car volume in the yard is 70% and is expected to increase to 80% next week.

āš“ Marine Services Update

Operating well. It was good to welcome the Mexican Navy tall ship CUAUHTEMOC  this week.

āš Safety Reminder:

We encourage all truck drivers to spray paint their twist-lock/pins with bright, reflective colours e.g yellow or orange. This simple step will improve visibility (particularly at night), enhances safety, and protects equipment from unnecessary wear and tear and damage.

PortConnect Enhancements:

Great to see the latest functionality released in Port Connect introducing visibility of each vessel phase. This new functionality enables users to see status of the vessel phase based on the following phases:

CREATED | INBOUND | ARRIVED | WORKING | DEPARTED | COMPLETE

These vessel phases can be found in the Vessel Detail screen located via the Vessels in Port section. Simply select the applicable vessel and expand its details as per below.
