We are home to the bunker barge Awanuia. Built to comply with all international standards and designed to minimise marine pollution, Awanuia in partnership with BP Marine, offers New Zealand's first Marpol compliant VLSFO and MGO fuels by barge.

Owned by Seafuels, the Awanuia provides a safe, reliable and high quality refuelling service to cruise, general cargo and container ships when visiting Auckland. The Seafuels partnership with BP Marine provides ongoing certainty of Marpol compliant fuel supply for vessels when calling at our port.

The Awanuia collects VLSFO and MGO from the Marsden Point Oil Refinery through a purpose-built berth, transferring it directly into commercial ships at their berths at the Waitematā seaport.
