Road Alert: eGate compulsory from 14 May 2026

8 April 2026

From Thursday 14 May 7am, eGate will become compulsory across all Fergusson gates.

From this date there will no longer be access to the pre-gate kiosks or express pins.

Important information:

Drivers must be registered in Cargowise for eGate at POAL. Access credentials for other ports (e.g. Metroport) will not work at POAL.
POAL security access cards are required for gate entry.
POAL is simplifying Fergusson gate entry. Drivers will only have to swipe their POAL security access card once at the gate kiosk.
Manual processing will still be required for Hazardous Export cargo, breakbulk and out of gauge flat racks and containers that require special lifts.
Drivers Assist will be manned on Saturday evenings between 1900 and 0700 to provide 24/7 support for all drivers arriving at POAL.
