Ports of Auckland has confirmed that it has applied to the Auckland Council for a Certificate of Compliance for [name of structure]. Alternatively Ports of Auckland has confirmed that it has been granted a Certificate of Compliance by the Auckland Council for [several port structures/name of structure.]
A Certificate of Compliance preserves POAL’s existing right to demolish buildings and structures within the port, if necessary to ensure the most efficient use of the Port’s footprint.
“Using our current land more efficiently helps put off the need for further reclamation,” Ports of Auckland Chief Executive Tony Gibson says.
The Port does not have any plans to demolish any structures at present, it is simply looking to preserve its right to do so if the need arises.
