🚦 Overall Operational Status
Port operations are running as planned although volume throughput is 'lumpy' due to volatility in vessel schedules.
⚓ Marine Services Update
Operating well. Please continue to monitor vessel movements via our website www.poal.co.nz
🏗 Container Terminal Update
Still operating to berth windows however this is proving to be challenging to maintain as a number of services have had scheduled arrivals affected by weather and offshore delays. Yard capacity has increased lately so we appreciate all efforts to have import boxes moved off the terminal as soon as possible. Given such dynamic movement in ship scheduling we are trying to advance vessel berthing where possible to maintain operational continuity.
🚚 Multi-Cargo (MC) Operations
Container/Breakbulk berths and yard are at 50% capacity expected to increase by the end of the week. PCC car volumes in the yard is at 40% and expected to increase by the end of the week.
Old light poles on Bledisloe will be taken down on the 9th & 10th September with work areas delineated and cargo space temporarily reduced.
⚠Safety reminder:
To ensure all staff, contractors and visitors to our sites are safe and highly visible, Hi -Vis garments must comply with AS/NZS 46024602.1:2011 - Class "D/N and AS/NZS 1906.4:2010 - Hi Visibility Materials for Safety Garments.
- This ensures that workwear is comprised of two categories for materials: high-visibility fabrics and retro-reflective materials. These materials create strong optical effects when responding to natural or generated light sources allowing you to be high-visible within the operational areas of POAL.
- Protective clothing must be a suitable size and fit, must be clean, have day and night stripes for visibility, and must not be ripped.
- Examples of non-compliant and compliant Hi-Vis garments are provided below.
