Operations Update

27 November 2024

🚦 Overall Operational Status

Port operations have been busy this past week with some congestion due to high volumes in the Container Terminal and two container vessels diverted to Multi-cargo. We are expecting strong volume demand leading up to the Christmas/holiday period. We ask for your continued support in clearing imports quickly which helps us with capacity.

Maintenance dredging at the Terminal has been completed, however we are still operating without “I” crane but now expecting this to be operational by the end of December.

As per the advisory sent Friday 22 November, our holiday season operating hours are available on our website here

🏗 Container Terminal Update

Container Terminal yard utilisation has been manageable however there is strong ongoing volume demand with a number of off window vessels expected over the next few weeks leading into the holiday period. We will continue to closely monitor yard utilisation balancing seaside and landside capacity to ensure we can keep containers flowing off the port optimally.

We encourage customers to monitor our website for berthing times and cargo cut offs.

🚚 Multi-Cargo (MC) Operations

Container/Breakbulk berths and yard is at 60% capacity and is expected to increase to 100% by the weekend. Car volumes in the yard are at 35% capacity and expected to increase to 65% by the weekend.

Marine Services Update

It's been busy for the Marine team recently with multiple visits from international Navy vessels
as well as facilitating cruise ships and our usual cargo ships.  The team have managed the extra ship moves well.
