Bookings for the free bus and boat tours of Auckland’s Port over Auckland Anniversary weekend are now open.

The free tours are being laid on as part of SeePort, which is being held during Auckland Anniversary Weekend 2014. For the first time Captain Cook Wharf will opened up for the free tours, as well as displays, tours and a carnival.

“SeePort has always been very popular and this year we’re making it bigger and better. It promises to be a three day celebration of the port and the waterfront,” Ports of Auckland Chief Executive Tony Gibson said.

Bus tours will run at 11:30am, 1pm, 2:30pm and 4pm each day of the event (25, 26 and 27 January).

Boat tours are available on 25 and 26 January at 11am, 1pm and 3pm and 27 January at 2pm and 4pm.

The bus tour will travel along around the Ports’ commercial wharves, stopping at places of interest, while the boat tour gives Aucklanders an insight into port operations from the water side.

To book on the bus tour*, call 0800 25 7678 (0800 AK PORT).

To book on the boat tour, call 09 307 8005.

Visit www.poal.co.nz for more information on what’s on offer at SeePort.

*Note: The Port is a Customs controlled area and so the law (Maritime Security Act, 2004) requires anyone who is over 16 years entering the Port to have a valid photo ID (NZ Drivers Licence, passport or 18+ card). We'd hate for you to be disappointed, so should you book on a bus tour, please ensure that all adults in your party have valid IDs.

Photo ID is not required for the boat tour or to enjoy the other attractions on Captain Cook Wharf.
