Watch the waterfront come alive this weekend as the Navy, Scouts, Maritime School and others take part in New Zealand’s premiere Port Open Weekend Festival.
Freight is put to one side at Ports of Aucklands this Anniversary weekend to make way for a fun-filled family event – with a few of our friends coming along to add to the fun.
“As we celebrate 175 years of Auckland being a port city, it is fantastic to have support from maritime and industry partners to help make SeePort 2015 one to remember,” Ports of Auckland Chief Executive Tony Gibson said.
On offer from our stakeholders are:
- RHIB and helicopter displays by the Royal New Zealand Navy
- Knot tying and rowing contests and more by the SCOUTS New Zealand
- The Auckland Rescue Helicopter Trust will have their helicopter simulator for visitors to test their flying skills
- Displays from the Ministry of Primary Industries and New Zealand Customs showcase how they protect our borders
- Containers are for more that storing cargo as can be seen by visiting the Royal Wolf exhibits and the Royal Wolf Theatre
- The Maritime Museum will take you back in time with displays showcasing 175 years of the Ports of Auckland Anniversary Day Regatta
There are also boat and bus tours of the port, a visit to the port’s control centre, a visit to the Maritime School of New Zealand’s ship simulator and more,

Ports of Auckland SeePort will be held at Captain Cook Wharf (Opposite Britomart on the waterfront from 10am – 6pm every day during Auckland Anniversary Weekend.
