Ports of Auckland has built a strong understanding of the needs of importers, exporters and transport companies. Our aim is to help reduce inefficiencies in the overall supply chain, for the benefit of business, the Auckland region and New Zealand.

The Wiri Inland Port will soon have a rail link with the Auckland seaport.

The Wiri Freight Hub will soon have a rail link with the Auckland seaport.

Key initiatives include the Vehicle Booking System (VBS), the Wiri Freight Hub, and the implementation of a rail link connecting Wiri to the Auckland seaport.

We recognise that our nation’s economic success depends on a supply chain able to move goods to and from global markets quickly, at as lowest cost as possible and in an environmentally friendly way.

Ports of Auckland is continuing to foster the development of multi-modal supply chains to serve New Zealand’s cargo owners. Optimising the mix of road, rail, and coastal shipping freight options, and enhancing their ability to interlock, will help create a more flexible, robust supply chain for New Zealand.

A Best-Available-Use project aims to maximise the number of trucks servicing the Port with a full load either way.
